Salah satu ciri khas dasbor admin wordpress.com (wp 2.7) adalah
(1) menu admin dapat dirubah-rubah posisinya (drag-and-drop) ke kiri-kanan atau ke atas-bawah sesuai keinginan kita–kecuali menu utama yang berada sebelah kiri secara vertikal yang tidak bisa di-drag-and-drop. Jadi, persis seperti cara kita men-drag-and-drop widget.
Umpamanya, kita ingin memindah menu “QuickPress” yang aslinya (by default) berada di sebelah kanan atas ke sebelah kiri, maka kita tinggal arahkan mouse ke tulisan QuickPress -> tekan mouse-kiri terus-menerus -> pindah QuickPress ke sebelah kiri -> lepas tekanan mouse kiri. Maka, posisi QuickPress akan pindah tempat. Begitu juga menu-menu yang lain seperti “Stat”, “Komentar Terakhir”, “Taut Kemari”, “What’s Hot”, “Saat Ini” dan “Recent Drafts”.
(2) Menu utama yang pada wordpress sebelumnya berada di bagian atas secara horizontal, sekarang berada di sebelah kiri secara vertikal. Apapun yang Anda lakukan, lirik-lah ke bagian kiri dasbor admin.
I. MENULIS DAN MENGEDIT ARTIKEL / POSTING
1. MENULIS ARTIKEL (POSTING)
Ada dua cara untuk menulis artikel atau posting.
(a) Via menu QuickPress. Yang kotak judul dan posting-nya sudah terbuka. Di QuickPress ini posting hanya bisa memakai “tag”, tapi tidak ada “kategori” juga tidak bisa pakai trackback manual. Kalau trackback otomatis saya kira masih bisa.
(b) Cara kedua: klik “Tulisan” -> Add New. Akan keluar menu ”Add New Post” tulis judul, konten artikel, tag, kategori, trackback, dll seperti biasa.
2. MENGEDIT (MENYUNTING) ARTIKEL / POSTING
(a). Cara Manual: Klik menu “Tulisan” di sebelah kiri -> arahkan mouse pada tulisan yang akan diedit/sunting -> akan tampak deretan menu sbb: Sunting | Quick Edit | Hapus | Lihat -> klik menu “Sunting” atau “Quick Edit” untuk merubah artikel -> klik “Update Post”.
(b). Cara massal: setelah klik menu “Tulisan” -> Kasih tanda tik pada menu Post -> Bulk Options -> Pilih menu yang dikehendaki (Sunting atau Hapus) -> klik “Terapkan”
II. MEMBUAT PAGES / HALAMAN STATIS
(a). Klik “Halaman”
(b). Klik “Add New” yang terletak di bawah “Halaman”
(c). Kasih Judul di kotak bawahnya menu “Add New Page”. Contoh: Bukutamu.
(d). Klik “Terbitkan”. Selesai.
Catatan: Untuk mengisi atau mengedit “Halaman” yang baru dibuat, klik “Halaman” -> “Sunting” -> Arahkan mouse pada Halaman / Page yang akan disunting dan pilih menu “Quick Edit” atau “Sunting.”
III. MELIHAT DAN MENGEDIT KOMENTAR
Klik “Komentar” di sebelah kiri, akan muncul deretan komentar dari visitor blog Anda.
(a) Arahkan mouse pada salah satu komentar, maka akan muncul menu-menu yang awalnya tersembunyi (hidden) sbb: Tolak | Spam | Hapus | Sunting | Quick Edit | Balas. Menu-menu ini berfungsi untuk mengedit komentar yang masuk secara manual. Klik menu-menu tersebut sesuai fungsinya.
(b) Untuk mengedit komentar secara massal baik untuk melepaskan moderasi, menghapus, menandai sebagai spam dsb cukup kasih tanda tik pada menu “Penulis” di bagian atas, klik menu pull-down -> pilih tindakan yang akan diambil, contoh “tandai sebagai spam” –> klik menu “Terapkan” yang berada di sampingnya.
